Quick Update

Hey everyone! :)

Just wanted to make a quick announcement. As you know I am working on 3 different stories (2 collabs and 1 of my own) well I have a few things I need to mention about each one:

The Lost Truth: (Collab)

~ Ok so my collab work with this story is going really well! :) I'm enjoying it and having a lot of creative ideas from it too! :D I like how the story is leading so far and I hope you all enjoy it too ^^

~ The announcement for this is the there will be a weekly release of this chapter :) As I feel that it will be too much preassure for both of us. I personally wish that I could do more but I think this is more reasonable and also given my health and other situation I think this would be the best thing at the moment.

The Lost Truth - Chapter 4: The Beginning of a Journey

The next morning Anna was wide awake! She couldn't sleep a wink last night after what she was told. How was it possible? Maybe she had known about it before her amnesia? No, it couldn't be, because then she would have started searching since two years ago. Or did she already start but lost her memories along the way? There were too many questions that was waiting to be answered but Anna couldn't bring the courage to face her parents she just couldn't do it, not yet anyway.

For the first, time in a long time, Anna didn't dream. Of course who would be able to sleep after hearing that? You've been adopted since birth and two years ago you lose your memory and you don't even know if you had any knowledge, what so ever, about the whole situation. Anna was feeling a little numb in the head from the thinking but decided that despite these factors she will still be able to put some of the puzzles together.

After her regular load of laundry and the cleaning up of the house she noticed the abnormal silence in the house. She went into the living room and saw how everyone was in the room sitting silently on the sofa. Her mum was in tears, almost, and it looked like she didn't get enough sleep either. Her dad was silently looking at the ground not saying a word. His expressionless face and posture could not be mistaken for anything but a deep and sorrowful sadness. Looking at her parents face, Anna was about to cry until she saw Harley and Tyler looking at her with longing eyes.
"You're leaving us?" Said Tyler, it was surprising because Tyler didn't seem the type to be so attached to Anna. Conner, who was sitting beside him, looked up at Anna with a gentle and caring smile. He was the only one who was so calm and relaxed of the whole situation; or was that just her imagination?
"Take care of yourself little sis and make sure to write to us when you can." He said with an unsteady voice. Oh gosh, if Conner was about to fall apart then Anna had no choice but to cry, she thought to herself. She didn't hold back, she wailed so loud that the rest of the family joined in. Harley, who was crying but confused and said after a moment,
"Why do you have to go sis?" He didn't have any idea and the rest of the family didn't mention anything. Just that she needed to go on a little adventure on her own.
"Don't worry I'll be back soon Har," Anna said and then turned to the rest of her family and said, "I will never forget any of you, you're all so dear to me and hold a special place in my heart." She turned away from her family.

She ran upstairs to pack up her things to take with her. It's finally here, the journey to search for her real parents and her identity. She packed the essentials and then on her dressing table was the creased paper Harley helped put together. It was the only lead she had and she needed it.

After one last check around her room, and a numerous amount of memorable pictures (on her phone) and objects in her suite case. She was ready to set off to find the lost truth.

The Lost Truth - Chapter 3: Midnight Puzzle (by daydreamer)

Midnight fell upon the house when Anna pulled out the crumpled parchment out from her pocket. Both Ma and Pa had returned hours ago, and her brothers were sound asleep. She didn't know what the parchment scraps were for, as they were in pieces, like a little kid tore them apart.

Silently, Anna crept down the occasionally creaky stairway into the kitchen. She snatched the roll of Scotch tape from their pencil/junk drawer. Anna then tiptoed over to the lamp in the living room and turned the knob. The sharp clicking sound made Anna wince. She desperately hoped that no one noticed it and suspected anything. Luckily, Pa didn't come running down the stairs with a Tyler's Nerf gun or baseball bat. Unluckily, Harley stumbled his way downstairs.

His face had markings on it from the way he was sleeping, and his blonde hair was sticking up all over. He rubbed his eyes, then made his way to Anna, still half-asleep. "What're you doing?" he groaned. "It's midnight."

"I know, Har, but I need quiet to put the thing I..." Anna paused, thinking of a cover up that was enough to satisfy a seven year old, "...broke yesterday."

Harley's whole body perked up like a dog's does when you offer it a treat. "What'd you break? Was it mine? I hope it wasn't mine. I hope it was Tyler's. He deserves it for turning off Spongebob."

Anna couldn't help but laugh. Little kid reasoning was extremely simple and funny. "No, it's not yours. It's mine... I think. It's a piece of paper that I... accidentally ripped... along with the dumb letter I got a while ago."

"Oh." Harley just stood there as he watched his sister try and make the pieces into a rectangle again. "Is it like a puzzle?"

Anna looked up at her little brother, wanting him to go back to bed, but also wanting him to stay. She liked his company. "Um, yeah, I guess so. Do you wanna help?" Harley's head nodded so much, Anna wouldn't have been surprised if his head snapped off.

He scooted himself onto the sofa next to her, and began to make the border of the paper. "It's easiest if you do it this way," he instructed, and Anna handed him all of the pieces with the smoother edges. She sat open-mouthed as Harley took scrap by scrap of the parchment and put it into place. There was no way she'd be able to do it as fast as Harley's flying hands could.

After about an hour, the parchment was finished and taped. Harley was conked out on the couch, and Anna was trying to decipher the strange letters on the page. It looked like the Greek symbols that she had seen while reading a book about Athens, but it looked like Egyptian hieroglyphics. A part of it was in Spanish, and she tried to decode it as best as she could. "El emperador azteca vive en el palacio con su hija, le princesa, y su hijo, un guerrero. El guerrero pelea en la guerra con el enemigos. El guerrero no quiere pelear. Quiere buscar..."

Anna knew from her "Spanish teacher" (online) that the paragraph meant, "The Aztec emperor lives in the palace with his daughter, the princess, and his son, a warrior. The warrior fights in the war against the enemies. The warrior does not want to fight. He wants to find..."

Anna leapt up from her seat. "FIND WHAT?" she yelled, waking up Harley. Ma, Pa and Tyler all ran downstairs. Once Ma saw the parchment that Anna held in her hand, she broke down in tears.

"What's wrong, Mom?" Harley asked.

"Just go to bed, Harley. You too Tyler. Your father and I need to talk with your sister." The boys sleepily nodded and lumbered back upstairs to their room, where they were no doubt listening through the air vent. "How did you find that?" Ma asked in shock.

"I found a key, so I thought it opened your top drawer, and it did, and inside was the paper, and I had a feeling like it was meant for me, so I brought it down here, Harley woke up, and he wanted to help me put it together, so we did, and then I read the part I could understand and it doesn't make sense!" Anna rambled. She ran to Ma and wrapped her arms around her waist. Tears were flowing all over now, even Pa was sobbing.

Eventually, Anna backed away and recomposed herself. "Do you know what it means?" she asked her parents. They both shook their heads.

Pa finally spoke up. "We're not your real parents. We just adopted you. You appeared on our doorstep in a baby carrier and that note. We couldn't read it because little baby you had ripped it up. We never had time to put it back together, but we kept the scraps. All we knew was that they were important. They're about where you came from, your history."

The three of them stood in silence for a while, too scared to say anything else. In their quietness, they all had accepted that things were going to change. Anna was going to grow up and leave, and Ma and Pa would have to wave good-bye to their amnesiac daughter as she goes off into the world on her own.

Typical Virtual World - Chapter 2 (by Leah)

The girls looked at each other with that determined look they shared since they were young.
Laila entered her personal information into the boxes provided, and with a deep breath, clicked 'join in'. Neither of them knew the weight of her decision then, but a weight filled the atmosphere even so. 'Can't be completely bad' Lailia shrugged, 'lets see what this place has to offer'

Options for her avatar popped up.
'hair, eyes, mouth, nose, face shape, body shape; apple, hourglass, pear, triangle.' The options were unending - by the time Lailia was through changing her virtual representative, she was amazed.
'That actually looks like you!' exclaimed Trina
'I know, right!' Laila couldn't hide her surprise while she spoke. 'You try, Trina!'
'I think I'll wait a while and see how you get on first' she wrinkled her nose a little, 'I'm not too sure if I can be bothered today. Besides, you can try the first few levels and give me some pointers later.'

They laughed and shrugged off the game for a bit, letting their conversation trail off to what they got up to that day.
'I have so much homework to do today. Like how can our teachers expect so much from us!' complained Laila, 'I just want to get one day to myself where I can worry about nothing. Maybe think about the way the clouds move from one part of the planet to the other'
'Your a dreamer you are, Laila, you give a whole new meaning to the saying about having your head in the clouds'

More laughter, it's what they do best. Laugh. It takes away the worries of life for that one moment in time. Especially in places of hope where they didn't know they needed it.

Brrrriiingggg. A loud buzz came out of the laptop.
'What was that?' Trina shuddered
a popup opened up on their screen: 'Welcome to THE OTHER WORLD' an animated character boomed, 'You are the new recruit! Prepare yourself, you are about to experience the time of your life.' It's face was contrastingly friendly compared to the voice. Neither Trina nor Lalia knew what to think of it. 'you are the 10 thousandth user! and for this reason, you have been chosen to be gifted with this....'
Lalia's eyes widened...
Not that she understood the significance of what had just happened.

The Lost Truth - Chapter 2: The Parchment Pieces (by Tarana)

Anna couldn't believe her eyes. It opened! She finally managed to get it opened. She was a little nervous opening the draw, there was no stopping her now. She slowly opened the door and felt a click in her brain. It was unexpectedly messy inside, It was full of parchment paper everywhere. In the corner there was a dried up ink pot and next to it a quill. The only  neatest part of the drawer.

Anna looked with glittery eyes at the papers and with trembling hands she picked up one of them. It was crispy and old but it wasn't burnt like the ones in her dream. Just as she wanted to dig in further she heard a scream from Harley saying "I wanted to watch SpongeBob!" with a bellowing cry. Anna flinched and quickly shut the drawer and locked it making sure to take the papers with her and put the key back exactly where she found it.

She came running downstairs to see Tyler watching wrestling while Harley was on the floor, with the pillows and quilt back on the floor again, crying as though to mourn for someone's death.

Anna asked with panic, "What happened?" Tyler turned around, his innocent face portrayed that it wasn't his fault.
"He just started to cry after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles finished. Something about watching Spongebob. I gave it to the channel and it finished while we were watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," Tyler explained, "so I changed it to the wrestling channel but he wouldn't stop crying," he added casually. Anna knew that Tyler didn't mean no harm, what would a 10 year old do at this point? Pretty much what Tyler did. She also knew that a 10 year old is still a child and would still want to have a lot of fun. So she smiled and went over to where Harley was and sat down on the same level as him.
"You want to build that fort again?" Anna asked and noticed that Tyler perked up with interest. Harley stopped crying and looked up at Anna with a glitter of hope with his twinkly red eyes.
"Really?" He asked with a trembling voice but still with some hope.
"Yes of course!" Anna said with enthusiasm and this tome Tyler just didn't sit back.
"I want to join." He said with curiosity. Anna smiled and made a mental note: To get the little brothers attention you just have to show them you can blend with what they would like too.
"Sure you can Tyler, just as long as you both play nice," she said with a stern but friendly tone, "and we can play in my room too we got lots of room there." They both were excited, Tyler instantly turned the TV off and both him and Harley ran upstairs with excitement. Anna gave a light chuckle and muttered to herself, "Oh kids, siblings especially." She got up to her feet and headed towards her bedroom.

Just as she was about to enter the room she remembered the pieces of papers in her pocket. She put her hand inside and took out all the pieces of papers in her pocket and was shocked at the content inside. How is she going to keep a straight face in front of her family after reading this? She needed to compose herself, and thought when she gets the time after her brothers go to bed she'll think about it.

The Lost Truth - Chapter 1: Lazy Days and Locked Drawers (by Daydreamer my co-writer)

The morning started the same as it usually did, Anna woke up in a cold sweat. Her bed was damp and her night clothes were soaked through. That meant she'd have to do another load of wash, probably more than she needed to. Her brothers always took advantage of her constant laundry loads, and bombarded her with pile after pile of dirty socks, underwear, and gym shorts.

Anna wasn't even sure if they were even her brothers. The amnesia had wiped everything away, including family memories. She'd been told that this was her family, and she was to live with them until she moved out of the house. That wouldn't be any time soon. Who'd want to give a job to an amnesiac? Even McDonald's probably wouldn't hire her. There was also no way Ma and Pa would let her out on her own either. They practically babied her, making it hard for Anna to do anything outside of the house.

Anna began to separate Connor's laundry in the nifty bins she had bought the week before. There was a compartment for whites, a compartment for colors, and one for darks. She set the timer and began her work. She liked to see how quickly she could do her chores. It was one of the more fun things to do for her. Anna had finished sorting in 10 minutes and 37 seconds, an all time low.

"What," she whispered to herself, "is up with me today?" She decided to step up her game for her bedroom cleaning, but that took twice as long as usual too. Anna was baffled. Did time speed up somehow? Maybe it did. Maybe Anna was just slow that day. Maybe the Earth was spinning off of its axis. Maybe it meant something big was going to happen.

Whatever it was, Anna took it as a sign to be a bit lazier today. Sliding on her fuzzy slippers, she scuffled along the kitchen's gray tiled floor and into the living room. The couch was empty and bare, all of the colorful throw pillows and quilts on the floor in an intricate design. Anna picked up a pillow and a quilt, put them on the couch, and went to lie down.

Before her body touched the cushion, a muffled voice came from under a quilt on the floor. "Hub! Tap wib ma puwwow n quote. Gib em bawc!" Anna lifted up the blanket to find Harley's little head.

"Could you repeat that please?"

Harley rolled his eyes and began again. "Hey! That was my pillow and quilt. Give 'em back!"

"Why do you need them? You've got plenty already."

Harley shimmied out from under the pillow pile. "I was making a fort, and it doesn't work without the pillow and quilt you took. I was about to make it not look flat." His tiny arms were crossed across his chest, his eyebrows trying to look like Pa's when he's mad. Pa could make his eyebrows touch. Harley couldn't, but he looked cute trying.

For a seven year old, Harley was the model of innocence. He'd sit and read in the corner while the other boys would be smashing action figures. He loved to draw, and apparently he was quite the ladies' man. Anna had found several love notes from girls in his backpack. She once asked how he got them, and his response was simple. "I draw them a picture and they give me a letter with hearts on it." Harley didn't have a care in the world, and over the past two years, he was the brother that Anna tolerated the most.

"So can I have them back or what?" Anna relented and gave her nap-time essentials back to Harley. She could find something else to do, but after baking, doodling, writing, and reading, Anna was pretty darn bored. She'd done everything in this house one thousand times over. Except for one thing. For her to do it though, she'd need Ma and Pa out of the house, and her brothers occupied.

"Hey Anna? I'm leaving for Ladies Night at church. I'll be back by ten thirty. Connor's at Jake's for the night, so you're in charge of Harley and Tyler. Make sure they eat dinner and brush their teeth. They can stay up until nine since it's Friday, but no later. Bye kiddo!" Ma called in a hurry. The front door slammed shut, and Anna locked it behind her. Perfect! Pa wouldn't be home until about nine thirty, so she'd have a few hours to work on her special project. Harley and Tyler needed to be busy though.

At around six p.m., Anna, Tyler, and Harley all sat and ate dinner in silence. The microwaved mac-n-cheese wasn't satisfying the boys, so they kept stabbing at it with their plastic forks. "This tastes weird," Tyler stated, his nose wrinkled up.

"You can make yourself something else if you don't like it. You know Ma's rule." Tyler promptly got up, scraped his mac-n-mush into the garbage, and got out the ingredients for his favorite thing in the world, Nutella and banana sandwiches. Harley did the same.

Once everyone had finished eating, it was beginning to get dark, and Anna couldn't send the boys to play outside even if she wanted to. She'd have to keep them busy another way. Video games? No, that always ended in tears. Movie? No, that ended in popcorn bombs everywhere. Episodes of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" on Netflix? Yes. That could work.

The TV screen flickered on, and Tyler pressed the Wii's power button. He grabbed the remote and started to click Ninja Turtles when Harley took the remote out of his hand so he could press the button. Tyler didn't make a big deal out of it, which Anna was grateful for. She'd have hated to waste precious project time on breaking up an argument between a ten and seven year old.

Once the boys were happy, Anna sprinted up the steps, going up two at a time, until she reached Ma and Pa's room. Luckily, the door was unlocked, and she could go inside. To anyone else, the room would have looked normal. The bed was big enough for two people, there were nightstands and dressers, and a mirror for Ma's make-up, but Anna noticed something different about it. A year ago, she'd gone in to get something for Pa, when something had caught her eye. It was a lock on the top drawer of their bureau. Why would they lock their bureau? Ever since then, Anna had been searching for the key to open up the drawer.

That past weekend, Anna found a key just lying on the ground in Harley's room. It didn't look like the house key or the car key or any kind of key Anna had ever seen. She immediately picked it up, hoping it would be the top drawer key. Now, as Anna slid the key into the lock and turned it, she heard the satisfying click she had always wanted to hear. She'd opened it. She'd opened the top drawer.

The Lost Truth - Epilogue: The Dream

Anna woke up from another nightmare, sweating and breathing heavily. This was the third time this week Anna had been having the same exact dream.

She always sees herself covered with parchment, some shredded and some burned, she just couldn't make out the writing. The place was always dark and smoky so she couldn't tell where she was. 'Why do I keep having this dream?' she thought to herself. There must be a reason why she's always surrounded by these pieces of paper. She then realised that the dream could actually give her answers to her amnesia, that she has had for the last two years.

Typical Virtual World - Chapter 1 (Collab with Leah)

Laila and Trina were both walking on the street of Cally, the summer but breezy weather felt soothing as they both were talking about one of those uncomfortable situation. Laila's sister was planning to run away with her boyfriend because of her unjustly parents.

Laila and Trina were both very understanding and down to earth girls. They were two inseparable friends that you'd mistaken them for sisters rather than best friends. Neither of them were rude or annoying and surprisingly they never fought with each other either. They both have each others back in the rough time and in the good times. So clearly right now was the perfect situation where Trina would help but at the same time Laila was uncomfortable because she felt she was being self centred talking about her troubles.
"Laila, we've known each other since we were children. Nothing you'll ever say to me would seem troublesome. Girl, you know I love helping people so why wouldn't I jump for the chance of helping you?" It's true, Trina was the type to give and help others and always supported her friends and strangers. She's so helpful but at the same time wouldn't want to share anything negative with anyone whether it was about herself or someone else.

Laila always respects and looks up to Trina a lot, they both have infinite respect for each other and Laila views Trina as more of an older sister than a best friend, even more so then her actual sister.
"She's really angry and upset with mum and dad, I just don't want her to do anything stupid or something that she will regret." Laila said with concern.
"You know Laila, I think it's time for us to have a word with Ella, she just wants to be heard that's all and I think she feels like she's not getting what she wants." Trina advised Laila, she smiled and said,
"I think you're right Trina, we need to talk to her," Trina nodded and smiled back, "You're the best Trina! You always know what to say and when."
"Not really," Trina blushed and Laila started to laugh,
"I see you're blushing, that's good," Laila said and hey both started to laugh.

Laila and Trina both went to Laila's house after the decision of meeting with Ella, Laila's older sister. When they arrived at the house, it was completely quiet, as though it was an abandoned, but well groomed, house. The hallway was very narrow but had a sense of homely feel to it. Having really natured looking sceneries of forests and mountains canvases hanging on either side of the walls, and two doors to the left of the wall; one leading to the kitchen and the other leading to the bathroom. On the right side was the staircase leading to the bedrooms and another bathroom. The lights hanging from the ceiling brightened the room as though the lighting reflected was the same that you would find in art galleries. Right at the end of the hall was the living room.

The living room was very cosy and warm, the pictures hanging on the wall of beautiful meadows and forests complimented the subtle furnitures spread across the room. As soon as you entered the room, the natural light seeping through, what seems to be, French windows brightened the area. The windows were surrounded by mint green curtains, on the right side of the room, there was arched walls with built in shelves full of all sorts of ornamentals from miniature art decorations to small picture frames of tiny sceneries. On the left side was a more wide spread area with the TV hanging off the wall, opposite it was the dark green sofa with a small table lamp beside it on what looked to be an antique looking end table. There were plants in the room too but not too many of it either, just a few scattered across the room near the French looking windows. The walls were painted in a very light sort of green and the floor was covered with white wood. The first impression, if anyone entered this room for the first time, would be the word calming and a place where you wouldn't want to leave.

Laila and Trina headed towards the living room, where they found Ella sitting on the sofa crying.
"Big sis!" Laila said with concern and both Laila and Trina rushed over to her to comfort her. "What's the matter? Why are you crying for?"
"It's mum and dad," said Ella tearily. Her voice was trembling and you can see and feel the hurt she's going through just by hearing her voice. "Why? Why can't they let me marry him? He's changed you know," she said trying her best to convince them both.
"We know, so don't worry so much," said Trina, while comforting her. "You know Ella, I think it would be wise if you just took your time with this because you don't want to rush into anything and your parents are probably thinking the same which is why they didn't want you to marry him straight away."
"You think so?" Ella asked for reassurance from her sister.
"Yeah I truly think so," Laila smiled at her and then hugged her.

After a little more consoling, Ella was convinced by both Laila and Trina, to take things slowly. Then, the two girls went over to Laila's room to just hang out. Once you entered Laila's room one of the two words that would pop in to your head: nature or green. Laila's family really loved anything to do with nature so they decided on keeping their house consistent with the theme. Laila loved the nature, she had the theme plastered all around her room it felt like the perfect meadow but indoors. It was very soothing, the walls were the same mint colour as the curtains in the living room. She had on large landscape view of a beautiful forest like scenery hanging opposite her bed. There was a light wooden coloured desk with a laptop and little messages on the wall just below the picture frame. The bed opposite was very fluffy and big and had a very delicate looking floral design over the bed covers. Just as you entered the room, there are three very long but slim looking windows with a window seat all around the arched wall. The bed was centred in the middle of the room with lamps on either side. On the left side of the door there was a little dressing table in the colour of the the desk. Beside the desk was a wardrobe that was also in the same colour.

When Laila and Trina entered the room, Laila turned on her laptop and they started to talk while they were waiting for it to load.
"I'm glad big sis decided to take things slow," Laila smiled.
"Yeah me too," Trina said, "Although I thought she would need a lot more convincing then that though," she said with a little concern.
"Yeah, at first I thought that too but I think she sort of understands that she needs to wait a little while." After a little while Laila's laptop was loaded and they decided to check out their social media as usual, "I'm a little bored," said Laila. Trina took a look at her laptop and then noticed an ad of a game on the side of her screen.
"Hey Laila, what's that?" Laila turned around to look at it with a curious face.
"I have no clue but it does look interesting doesn't it?" Laila clicked on the add, "What's The Other World?"
"I have no idea, seems to me like a game, it looks interesting though, how about you make an account."
